Firestop insulator goes around the flue as it passes through the ceiling so there is no heat build up in the cavity, eliminating the need for a ventilated firestop plate.
Using the insulator should therefore reduce your heating costs.
Use in conjunction with a circular firestop plate, basic firestop plate and joist support.
